JOB SUMMARY:

Assists the Food and Beverage Manager & Food & Beverage Senior Supervisor in directing and organizing the dining room, lounge and banquet staff at the Lakeview Gimli Resort to ensure first class service, and to maximize profits and guest satisfaction. The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible to assist the Food and Beverage Manager & Food & Beverage Senior Supervisor in the successful daily operations of Seagull’s Restaurant and the Pier Lounge as well as the banquet department of the Lakeview Gimli Resort. Key responsibilities include staff training on dining service techniques & upselling.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist the Food and Beverage Manager training, supervising, and disciplining staff

· Supervising the floor during meal periods to ensure that all standards and steps of service are met through all guest interactions

· Ensuring that checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing functions are being completed each shift.

· Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the staff.

· Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary

· Ensure staffing levels for all outlets are accurate based on hotel and dining room business levels.

· Communicate pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes

· Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved guests. Answer telephones in a clear voice, coordinate and document reservations.

· Maintain rapport with all departments and attend relevant meetings.

· Move throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met. Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency

· Assist Food and Beverage manager & Food & Beverage Senior Supervisor to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence. Input and retrieve data from Squirrel System.





· Ensure that all standards and restaurant cash handling procedures are met.

· Ensure adequate staffing of the restaurant and banquet at all time.

· To supervise and assist the restaurant staff on a daily basis

· To input correct cost into the Squirrel system and create buttons to represent each recent dish in the restaurant daily

· To have excellent understanding and product knowledge of menu and liquor items

· Conduct daily briefs prior to each and every service and liaise with Chef to be aware of any special dishes

· Working with managers & other supervisors to coordinate all aspects of deliveries and keep accurate and up to date records.

· Ensures the highest possible standards of guest service are provided. Listens and responds to guest and employee concerns and questions.

· Assists additional Supervisors, Dining room servers, banquet servers and staff, Kitchen staff and bussers/hostesses in exceeding the expectations of our dining and hotel guests

· Working quickly and independently to resolve operational and/or guest issues when necessary, ensuring proper follow through and excellence in creating a memorable experience for our guests.

· Provides leadership to restaurant and banquet service team through frequent training on dining table service, wine presentation and education on restaurant beverage menu.

· Complete any assignments or projects assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager, Senior Supervisor, Sales & Catering Manager or General Manager

· Communicate all hotel, guest and group information to employees on a daily basis.

· Responsible for weekend and holiday coverage if needed.

· Table set up and Buffet/Coffee service stations set up and breakdown in Banquet Rooms

· Perform any other duties as assigned by Food and Beverage Manager

· Spends time in Seagull’s Dining room for the organization and control of the breakfast, lunch and dinner service in order to maintain consistently high standards.

Pay: $20.82 per hour
