The High River General Hospital Long-Term Care (LTC) is home to 50 Elderly Residents. Nestled 66.5 kms south of Calgary in the beautiful community of High River, Alberta. The vibrant High River Hospital offers an excellent rural care giver opportunity in a unique and diverse Alberta health services care facility. The Health Care Aide (HCA) in LTC works in a Resident Family Centered Care environment that focuses on meeting the comprehensive and complex care needs of the Residents and their families in a home like setting. The HCA will work diligently to enhance the Residents activities of daily living by providing compassionate Resident centered care. Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation,
and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a regulated health qualified, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.

Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide, along with proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Long Term Care Nursing experience preferred. 1-2 years Caregiver Experience in an Adult Clinical Care Setting preferred. Completion of Supportive Pathways or equivalent dementia care education or experience will be considered a preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as member of a care team. Palliative Care experience will be considered a preferred.
