We are looking for a compassionate, organized and energetic Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team.

About the role:

You will work closely with our DVM’ and other technicians to provide excellent care to our patients. Our RVTs get to use a variety of their skills including small animal general anesthesia,



obtaining quality diagnostic radiographs, performing laboratory tests and providing nursing care to our patients. We are open Monday- Friday and we share on-call rotation with all of the East Kootenays and we average two nights/ month of on-call services.

· Anesthetic Monitoring for routine surgeries

· Perform all aspects of a COHAT

· Collect samples and perform laboratory tests, including blood and urine

· Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery

· Obtain diagnostic radiographs

· Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian

· Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian

· Counsel clients on animal health care, including behaviour, nutrition and more

· Provide wound and bandage car

· Keep clinic tidy and organized for efficiency

What We’re Looking For

· RVT with registration with the BCVTA ( or eligible for registration)

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

· Compassionate, patient-focused approach

· Ability to work independently in a small clinic setting

· Experience in small animal practice preferred
