Job Offer – Executive Director (15 hours/week)

Wakefield Activities for Youth (WAY)

Wakefield Activities for Youth (WAY) is a community‑based nonprofit dedicated to creating safe, inclusive and engaging opportunities for youth in the Wakefield/La Pêche area. We are seeking a part‑time Executive Director (DG) to lead the organization, support its programs, and strengthen its presence in the community.

Role Overview

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall coordination, administration and development of WAY. This includes program oversight, partnership building, fundraising, communications, and supporting the Board of Directors in fulfilling its governance role. The ideal candidate is community‑minded, organized, and passionate about youth development.

Key Responsibilities

v Oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of youth programs and activities.

v Organize paid programming for PD days, March break and summer break.

v Support staff, volunteers and facilitators to ensure high‑quality programming.

v Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, municipalities and funders.

v Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, reporting and donor relations.

v Manage communications: newsletters, social media, community outreach.

v Ensure sound administrative practices,



including budgeting and basic financial oversight.

v Prepare materials for Board meetings and support the Board in strategic planning.

Qualifications

v Experience in community work, youth programming, nonprofit management or related fields.

v Strong organizational and communication skills.

v Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

v Experience with grant writing or fundraising (a must).

v Familiarity with the Wakefield/La Pêche community (an asset).

v Security background check required.

v Bilingualism (English/French) is required (most local partners and funding opportunities require the ability to communicate in French, while our youth are mostly Anglophones)

Working Conditions

v 15 hours per week, flexible schedule. Possibility of more hours if the person hired finds additional funding.

v Hybrid work possible (remote + in‑community presence).

v Hourly rate between $25 and $35/hour, based on experience

v Start date: as soon as possible.
