Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated registered Psychotherapist or Social Worker to join and grow with our therapy team in rural Oakbank Manitoba as an associate therapist. We strongly believe in increasing access to mental health supports in rural communities and providing high quality care and support wherever possible. The world is a hard place these days; together, we rise again.
Duties
- Provide in person or virtual psychotherapy services to a variety of clients including children, youth, and adults across the lifespan
- Assess the unique needs of the individuals to then formulate a case conceptualization and counselling plan
- Advocate for clients when appropriate, leasing with other third party community agencies or organizations (ie. schools, doctors, etc.)
- Maintain updated and professional progress notes
- Complete reports for and/or conduct communication with third parties as needed (WCB, insurers, healthcare, etc.)
- Potentially be able to travel to Beausejour if needed
Experience
- Prior experience providing evidence based psychotherapy
- Prior experience working with children is desirable
- Experience with couples counselling is considered an asset
- Experience or interest in animal assisted therapy is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of ethical practices in psychotherapy
Requirements: professional liability insurance of at least $2,000,000, skilled accreditation in good standing and registration/certification with a licensing or certifying body and understanding of, and adherence to its code of ethics. Comfortable having animals at the work site.
