The committee of Newmarket On Fergus Community Centre is looking for a volunteer to take on the role of Governance. This role can be done from home with an expectation to attend 2–3 meetings per year in Newmarket.n
Responsibilities
- Advise the Board of Directors on the requirements of the Governance Code.
- Ensure the Board of the Community Centre adheres to the rules, regulations and procedures in line with governance.
- Review the existing policies for the board and recommend changes.
- Audit compliance with the board's policies and report findings to the board.
- Make recommendations for board member training on compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Background in company compliance.
- Attendance of relevant training on Governance.
- Fluency in English.
- Good communication skills (oral & written).
- Ability to give advice to the board and make recommendations in line with governance.
Commitment
Minimum time commitment: 1 yearn
Hours required: 2 hours per week, 2–3 meetings per year.
