Role and Objectives:

nThe Junior QA Technician supports quality assurance activities by performing routine product testing, completing administrative and data entry tasks, and assisting in maintaining company quality and safety standards.n

Responsibilities:

n

- Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
n
- Follow established safe work procedures (SWP) and practices. Ensure you are signed off annually.
n
- Report identified safety hazards to supervisors or safety.
n
- Help identify areas where we may be exposed to safety hazards and assist in the development of new SWP’s.
n
- Ensure that Company quality standards are effectively implemented.
n
- Ensure operational excellence in quality control, data management, inventory control and manufacturing.
n
- Conduct daily product testing according to established procedures.
n
- Maintain quality records and documentation.
n
- Observe systems and processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
n
- Identify and communicate key indicators of performance.
n
- Assess and ensure we are maximizing value back to the company by performing regular checks and provide recommendations on improvement opportunities.
n
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
n




- Once fully trained, this role may provide temporary coverage for QA Technician absences to support operational continuity.
n

nRequirements:n

n
- Post-secondary studies in forestry, wood science, or manufacturing are an asset.
n
- Prior experience in manufacturing, quality or inspections an asset.
n
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
n
- Working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance/control activities.
n
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
n
- Receptive to change – can adapt to changing circumstances.
n
- Proactive and focused on continuous improvement.
n

nWork Conditionsn

n
- Location: KMT - 3050 South Slocan Station Road, South Slocan, BC
n
- Overtime as required.
n
- Occasional exposure to dust and fumes.
n
- Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 20 or more lbs.
n
- Constant finger dexterity and ability to hear, and talk, and possess depth perception.
n
- Occasional climbing and carrying.
n
- Moderate noise intensity level.
n

nCompensation Package:n

n
- Wage: $28.75 - $31.70 per hour
n
- Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday
n
- Will cover vacations when needed.
n
- Weekend work may be required.
n
