In this permanent, full time role with the Commerce and Industry department, you will lead initiatives related to Forestry, Mining, and Energy, ensuring compliance and effective implementation. You will also manage budgets, engage in external communication, and provide financial guidance on sectoral development projects. This role requires robust teamwork and communication skills for various stakeholders in Eeyou Istchee.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on natural resource issues locally and regionally
• Develop project strategies for optimal implementation




• Coordinate the Cree Nation Free Trade Agreement
• Compile and analyze sector development data
• Supervise direct reports and conduct performance evaluations
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management
• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
• Fluent in Cree and English; French is a plus
• Solid environmental management knowledge
• Proven problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities
