Job Title: Electrical Assembler

Job Description

This position is responsible for assembling and wiring standard and engineered control assemblies, as well as performing full functional and electrical testing on finished products. The role combines electrical and mechanical assembly, testing, and quality-focused work in a structured manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

- Assemble and wire standard and engineered control assemblies according to drawings, specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Interpret and work from drawings, specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and verbal or written instructions to perform precise electrical and mechanical assembly.
- Determine wiring sequence, layout, and component location to ensure accurate and efficient assembly.
- Perform functional and electrical testing on products to verify proper operation and compliance with requirements.
- Work in accordance with CSA, UL, and CEC codes, as well as internal quality standards and procedures.
- Provide input and recommendations to improve the effectiveness, safety, and efficiency of the work area.
- Actively support and participate in corporate and departmental initiatives, including department meetings, safety programs, lean manufacturing activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality management programs.
- Perform other related duties within the facility as required to support production and operations.
- Comply with all safety requirements, including correct use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Perform all job functions in alignment with the organization’s philosophy, values, code of ethics, and environmental and safety standards.

Essential Skills

- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent level of education from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of manufacturing or assembly experience.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and written instructions.
- Hands-on experience with electrical wiring and panel wiring.
- Proficiency in electrical and electronic assembly, including working with circuit boards.
- Skill in soldering and crimping for reliable electrical connections.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly in addition to electrical tasks.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as CSA, UL, and CEC.
- Ability to perform functional and electrical testing to verify product performance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality requirements.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment correctly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in machining operations, particularly with milling and drilling equipment.
- Background in production or manufacturing environments involving electrical or electronic assembly.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints.
- Experience working within lean manufacturing and continuous improvement environments.
- Comfort working with a variety of assembly tools and equipment provided at the workstation.

Work Environment

The role operates in a manufacturing facility with an individual workstation set up specifically for assembly tasks. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with no regular overtime expected. All necessary tools are provided at the worksite, and the environment is designed to be comfortable, with no strong odors or excessive noise. Employees follow established safety procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and work in a setting that supports focused, detail-oriented electrical and mechanical assembly work.

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
