Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton, South Campus Edmonton, Campus Saint-Jean.

The position performs a vast number of duties using heavy, light and small equipment, as well as hand tools and manual labor. These duties include the maintenance and construction of (but are not limited to); hard/soft landscaping, pond maintenance, furnishings, signs, snow removal, irrigation installation and repair, pruning, special event set up and take downs, miscellaneous task and daily repairs/maintenance on equipment used for each task listed above. This position also includes a variety of delivery and procedures that call for adjustments in work schedules to achieve objectives. Due to the array of tasks that are required to be completed daily, majority of the day is spent outside of the department. It is crucial that operators are alert, use caution and have clear visuals of all hazards and safety concerns that can occur when working within large crowds and onsite traffic. The position also calls for quick adaptability and responsiveness to last minute requests or situations that may arise.

Operating one of the largest campus district energy systems in North America, the utilities team plays a vital role in maintaining and advancing the infrastructure that serves over 70,000 people daily. Their efforts ensure efficient and sustainable energy services across the campus and greater campus area.

- Heavy/Light equipment operation and maintenance
- Hard Landscaping
- Soft Landscaping
- Pruning/Removals
- Special event set up and take down
- Snow removal
- Irrigation install and maintenance

- High School Diploma plus two years on the-job experience in Landscaping or Horticulture




- Valuable working knowledge and communication of the English language (written & verbal)
- Skid Steer Certification
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Defensive Driving Training
- Must complete and pass UofA Risk Management Driver's Evaluation
- Computer literate.
- WHMIS and all F&O; required safety training.
- Courses in horticulture, irrigation, and pruning would be beneficial.
