Position Overview
Cleveland Clinic Canada is seeking a Nova Scotia–licensed Nurse Practitioner to provide virtual care services as an independent contractor. The Nurse Practitioner will action medical orders (blood work, referrals, imaging) for patients who are physically located in Nova Scotia, using our secure virtual platform. Results to be actioned by NS licensed NPs. This role is ideal for an NP who values autonomy, flexibility, and evidence-based practice within a highly reputable organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete orders (e.g., diagnostics, prescriptions within NP scope, referrals) in accordance with Nova Scotia regulations and organizational protocols.
- Document all encounters clearly, accurately, and promptly in the electronic medical record.
- Practice in alignment with Nova Scotia regulatory standards for virtual care, privacy/confidentiality requirements, and professional codes of conduct.
- Qualifications
- Current registration and good standing as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN), must be physically located in Nova Scotia.
- Authorized to independently diagnose, order and interpret tests,



and prescribe in Nova Scotia within NP scope of practice.
- Experience in primary care, urgent care, or ambulatory care settings preferred.
- Robust clinical judgment, critical thinking, and comfort with autonomous practice.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Comfortable using technology, electronic medical records, and virtual care platforms.

Technical Requirements

- Reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Private, professional workspace suitable for confidential virtual visits.
- Computer or device compatible with the virtual care platform and EMR.
- Ability to navigate and troubleshoot basic technical issues during virtual encounters.

The pay range reflects the expected compensation for this position. The final rate offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidates’ experience, education, training and alignment with the role’s expectations.
