About the Position

The Edmonton EXPO Centre is seeking enthusiastic Canadian Finals Rodeo(CFR) Activation Team member to join the team! In this role you will work within the Community Initiatives & Agriculture department,



supporting the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) Team. The role includes promoting the CFR in the community, at other rodeos and partner events, other sporting events and attracted events.

- This is a temporary, part-time position which runs May 18 to September 20, 2026, with the possibility of casual work beyond. Hourly rate: $21.00

The successful candidate will:

- Always maintain a positive and outgoing attitude while interacting with guests at events
- Support coordination of logistics for any of the activations and prepare required supplies ahead of each event
- Support set up, tear down and activating at all schedule events including pop-up tent, table, lawn games and signage
- Promote the Canadian Finals Rodeo in a professional and knowledgeable manor, and support driving ticket sales through handing out swag items, playing games, and encouraging guests to use discount codes to purchase tickets
- Listen to customers and answer questions or concerns about the CFR, or other City and Explore Edmonton events as they arise
- Refer issues and questions to managers as necessary
- Encourage guests to enter giveaway draws and sign up for ‘The Dirt’ newsletter
- Prepare post-event reports by gathering data collected during customer interactions
- Be ambassadors to Edmonton and all the events taking place in the city
- Act as a welcome to the city for all visitors and locals
- This position will require travel as well as evening and weekend hours




- This position will primarily be event focused with much of the work happening on-site at activated events, with some office time to prepare supplies and evaluate data collected
- Availability for all or most of the dates and times, with some flexibility on additional office hours, required.

The successful candidate will have:

- Experience in customer service or event/street team activations
- Pro-active with solid prioritization and organization skills
- Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
- Knowledge of the rodeo community and the Canadian Finals Rodeo is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office applications is an asset (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Solid, demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated good judgment and professionalism
- Displays leadership qualities
- Proven ability to work independently and perform effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines
- Lifting and moving equipment up to 50lbs
- Available for dates specified above between May 18 to September 20, 2026
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected persons under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and legally entitled to work and study in Canada
- Be an Alberta resident with an Alberta address and living and/or attending school in the province
- Class 5 Drivers License with access to a vehicle that can transport tent and event supplies.
