Registered Kinesiologist – Cardiac Rehabilitation Program (Part-Time, Contract)

Schedule: 2 days per week (Tuesdays & Wednesdays)
Program Start: Immediate (Spring/Summer 16-week program)

About the Program

North Bay Cardiology is proud to offer a growing Cardiac Rehabilitation Program designed to improve patient outcomes, fitness, and quality of life following cardiac events.

Our program includes:

- 16-week structured rehabilitation program
- Supervised group exercise classes
- Individualized exercise prescriptions
- Interdisciplinary education (dietitian, social work, healthcare team)
- Evidence-based care aligned with provincial cardiac rehab standards

We are expanding and working with the North Bay Cardiac Rehabilitation Foundation to grow into a larger, potentially full-time program.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Registered Kinesiologist to support our Cardiac Rehab Supervisor in delivering safe, effective, and engaging rehabilitation classes.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing program with strong potential for role expansion into a larger or full time position.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in leading supervised cardiac rehab exercise classes
- Support patient assessments and individualized exercise prescriptions
- Monitor patient safety and respond to clinical needs during sessions
- Assist with patient education and program delivery
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
- Support program organization and ongoing development





These responsibilities align with the broader cardiac rehab role including patient assessment, program delivery, and team collaboration.

Schedule

Classes are held at:
100 College Drive, Canadore College – The Village, North Bay

Tuesdays & Wednesdays:

- 9:30 AM – 11:15 AM
- 10:45 AM – 12:30 PM
- 1:30 PM – 3:15 PM

(Exact assigned class times will be confirmed with the successful candidate.)

Qualifications

Required:

- Registered (or eligible) with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related health field
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work with cardiac patients in a supervised clinical setting

Preferred:

- Experience in cardiac rehab, clinical exercise, or chronic disease management
- ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (or in progress)
- Experience with EMR systems

- Vulnerable Sector Check (required prior to start)
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team environment
