About the Position
The Edmonton Convention Centre (ECC) is seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Yardman to join our team and help maintain the pristine appearance of our facilities, while ensuring a safe and inviting environment for all. As a crucial member of the ECC Maintenance team, you will play a key role in the upkeep and aesthetics of our premises' exterior, including all entrances and exits, stairs, sidewalks, terraces, lawns, and flowerbeds.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Clearing snow, ice, and debris from entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas.
- Maintaining equipment and performing equipment upkeep tasks.
- Caring for the landscape and garden, including weeding and pruning.
- Collecting litter and maintaining cleanliness in the garbage bay.
- Executing various maintenance duties such as sweeping and drain clearing.
- Complying with health and safety regulations and waste sorting guidelines.
- Documenting site conditions for safety purposes.
- Supporting and promoting sustainability initiatives as part of our brand.
The successful candidate will have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, but not required
- A Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent.
- 2+ years of yardman/groundskeeper experience.
- The ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and withstand physical labour for extended periods.
- Fall arrest/Working From Heights and Skid Steer certifications are required or are willing to be obtained.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
- The ability to operate lawnmowers, snow blowers, forklifts, etc.
