Could you be the full-time Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator in Kingston, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in Environment, Health, and Safety in an impactful and rewarding field.

You’ll work alongside a skilled and collaborative team of professionals dedicated to delivering excellence.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with EHS regulations during the testing and commissioning phases of equipment and trains, contributing to a safer and more sustainable transportation system.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with permit offices, supervisors, employees, contractors, and the prime contractor, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met, overseeing work permits, and coaching supervisors to foster a culture of safety and responsibility.

You’ll specifically take care of conducting inspections and monitoring on-site activities, as well as providing risk assessment support to employees and contractors, but also lead accident investigations and implement follow-up actions to ensure continuous improvement.

We’ll look to you for:

Conducting inspections and monitoring on-site activities

Overseeing work permits and ensuring compliance

Providing support for risk assessments to employees and contractors

Coaching supervisors to promote safety leadership

Delivering EHS inductions for employees and contractors

Managing contractors and ensuring their readiness

Leading EHS committee meetings and broadcasting monthly toolbox talks





Investigating accidents and ensuring follow-up action plans are executed

Qualifying and monitoring contractor EHS documentation

Implementing emergency measures and first aid protocols

Taking immediate action to stop operational activities that pose high risks to people or the environment

University degree in Environment, Health, and Safety or a related field

Health & Safety Qualification recognized by local authorities

2 to 5 years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety, with mandatory experience on construction sites

Strong leadership skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)

Experience in project-based environments (an asset)

Experience in the railway industry (an asset)

Strong written English communication skills

Valid driver’s license

In-depth knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO45001 standards

Comprehensive understanding of local legal EHS requirements

Key competencies: teamwork, leadership, strong interpersonal skills, initiative, analytical thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement

Compensation
The expected compensation for this role is $80,000 $100,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
