Barriston Law is seeking a high‑performing lawyer with 2–6 years of experience to join our Planning and Development team in our Barrie office. This is an exceptional prospect to build a focused planning litigation practice with a well‑established and highly regarded team. The ideal candidate will have experience appearing before the Ontario Land Tribunal; however, candidates with strong litigation backgrounds or relevant municipal and planning experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Play a key role on complex and routine matters, supporting our senior lawyers and having responsibility for your own files.

Attend and prepare for hearings before the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Work closely with expert witnesses, develop litigation strategy, draft materials and interpret legislation.

Advocate on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice throughout the litigation process.

Qualifications

2–6 years of legal experience, preferably in planning, development or related fields.





Experience appearing before the Ontario Land Tribunal or a strong litigation background.

Strong analytical, drafting and advocacy skills.

Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload.
