Environmental Site Assessment Technical Report Author

Opportunity

WSP is growing and has an opportunity for an Environmental Site Assessment Technical Report Author to join our Remediation Program Management team in Winnipeg. The role evaluates risk and advises on contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons such as diesel, gasoline, and crude oil. We expect a self‑motivated individual with strong time‑management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

- Participate in a team environment, working closely with Project Managers and Field Technicians.
- Produce high‑quality written technical reports supporting large and small environmental site assessment, monitoring, and remediation projects.
- Prepare site closure documentation, including detailed site investigations and regulatory forms.
- Perform QA/QC on laboratory data and generate tables.
- Compare results to site‑specific regulatory guidelines and protocols, and report findings to project stakeholders.
- Generate and QA/QC regulatory checklists, forms and other documents to meet provincial regulation requirements.
- Create, execute, and revise work plans to satisfy Project Manager needs.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (sciences and/or engineering).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in contaminated site assessments; downstream experience considered an asset.




- Strong field experience in soil and groundwater monitoring, Phase I and II assessments, and site remediation.
- Understanding of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba environmental regulations.
- Qualified designation preferred.
- Experience in the oil and gas sector will be an asset.
- Safety‑conscious attitude with knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.
