Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Business Systems Specialist supports the planning, implementation, and ongoing improvement of enterprise systems. This role leads software evaluations and deployments, develops system integrations, and enhances existing platforms to meet business needs.

The position also supports project delivery through budgeting, timelines, and vendor coordination, while providing training, reporting, and advisory support to staff. The Specialist ensures proper documentation, promotes process improvements, and contributes to change management initiatives, while staying current with emerging technologies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Strategic Planning & Governance

- Support annual IT business planning and report progress to the Director
- Ensure consistent adherence to corporate standards across projects

Systems & Application Management

- Lead evaluation and implementation of enterprise software solutions
- Develop integration strategies across applications
- Design and implement system enhancements

End‑User Support & Customer Service

- Provide Tier 3 support for enterprise applications
- Troubleshoot complex issues and guide users through solutions
- Deliver responsive, high‑quality customer service

Vendor Management

- Liaise with vendors to resolve escalated issues




- Support software procurement processes aligned with business needs

Project Management & Delivery

- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting
- Improve and maintain project management standards and processes

Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain documentation standards for systems and projects
- Produce reports and technical documentation as required

Training, Support & Advisory

- Deliver training on systems and processes
- Provide ongoing advisory support and recommend improvements

Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

May be required to answer calls outside of regular business hours

Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES

Education & Experience

- University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in business systems analysis and operational workflows, including implementation of new technologies and software solutions.
- Project management experience and/or certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and process mapping tools.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills,



with the ability to influence across all levels
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments with strong organization and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, supported by financial and business acumen
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated project management experience and knowledge of methodologies and tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, and reporting tools, including data visualization and reporting
- Solid understanding of systems development life cycle (SDLC), systems analysis/design, and programming fundamentals
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, and results‑driven, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong training, presentation, and advisory skills, with experience supporting change management initiatives
