Senior Estimator - Edmonton Our client, a well-established and respected General Contractor operating across Western Canada, is seeking a
Senior Estimator
to join their growing pre-construction team. Reporting directly to the Chief Estimator, this individual will play a key role in preparing competitive, accurate budgets and supporting the full bid lifecycle for commercial construction projects ranging from $2M–$20M.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions
Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and contract forms
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using industry-standard software
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes
Develop preliminary construction schedules and logistics plans
Identify technical risks, ambiguities, and unique project requirements within bid documents
Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier quotations
Participate in bid strategy sessions and ensure submission deadlines are met
Conduct risk and opportunity analysis with mitigation strategies
Present estimate summaries and findings during bid review meetings
Support post-bid analysis and lessons learned evaluations
Maintain and enhance historical cost databases
Provide estimating support for change orders and project variations
Assist Project Managers with cost-related inquiries during project execution
Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems, tools, and procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
5–8 years of estimating experience within the construction industry
Experience working for a General Contractor in Western Canada preferred
Experience delivering commercial construction projects valued between $2M–$20M
Gold Seal Certification (in progress or willingness to pursue) required
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
Proficient in interpreting drawings, specifications, and Canadian contract forms (CCDC 2, 5B, 14)
Experience developing construction execution plans and preliminary schedules
Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff, Sage 300, Procore, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
