Senior Financial Analyst (Reporting and Compliance) Location: Cambridge, ON, CA, N3H 4R7
Company: ATS Life Sciences Systems, a division of ATS Corporation
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key contributor to the Reporting and Compliance team within the Cambridge life sciences systems business (>$500 Mn in revenue). The role combines strong technical expertise with business acumen, focusing on financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and business partnering. Responsibilities include month‑end close/reporting, reconciliations, cash forecasting, foreign exchange analysis, audits, and preparation of accurate and timely financial reports. The position reports directly to the Finance Manager (Reporting and Compliance).
Specific Responsibilities Financial Reporting and Accounting
Supporting the monthly reconciliation of any B/S accounts associated with the business unit.
Developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives with respect to the finance processes within the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
Ensuring that the Cambridge Systems Division financial reporting is in accordance with IFRS.
Preparing audit working papers on a quarterly basis, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled.
Performing intercompany reconciliations and reporting, and assisting with other monthly corporate reporting.
Assisting with cash forecasting and forecasting foreign cash flows for determination of hedge settlement.
Internal Control, Policies and Procedures
Ensuring adherence to IFRS and SOX.
Working with internal and external teams to put in place strong financial controls and processes.
Providing early warning of business and financial risks along with opportunities to allow accurate, timely information for business decisions.
Reviewing and assessing areas of business risk within the division, and working with the Manager, Financial Reporting & Compliance to develop policies to minimize or eliminate that risk where possible.
Operational Support
Supporting the bid approval process, working closely with account managers and the Director, Applications.
Ensuring any financial risks are mitigated (credit/FX/transfer pricing/taxes) and building in cost of financing & EDC costs to any bids.
Supporting financial planning and budgeting processes.
Qualifications Education: Degree in Finance or Accounting. Ideally hold a CPA designation or be enrolled in a CPA program.
Experience & Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred) and Microsoft Outlook.
Ability to determine relevant information for the target audience and provide it in a meaningful manner.
Detail‑oriented and able to consistently meet deadlines while conducting in‑depth financial analysis and presenting it clearly and concisely.
Strong organizational, planning, time‑management and problem‑solving skills. Critical thinker.
Highly motivated, dependable, and customer‑focused team player.

Additional Experience
4 - 7 years of relevant experience.
Has CPA designation or close to completion.
Strong Excel skills.
Manufacturing experience.
Standard costing exposure.
POC (percentage of completion) accounting experience.
Intercompany reconciliations experience.
Some complex accounting experience.
Experience with ERP systems (ideal).
Has implemented or followed internal controls.
Can explain the business reason for variances.
Can get to the root cause of an issue, and remove the problem.
General accounting, financial reporting experience.
Managerial/Cost accounting experience.
Very organized.
Curious mind.
Ability to troubleshoot, even when experience is lacking, and to question team members for clarification.

Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures.
Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout‑tagout methods.

Report defects in any equipment or protective device.
Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks.
Attend all required health, safety and environmental training.
Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
