Job Title: Director, Business Development (Civil Construction)
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Salary: $135,000 – $165,000 annually (based on experience)

This role offers hands‑on involvement in shaping pursuit strategies, targeting the right clients, and positioning projects for success alongside executive leadership, estimating, and operations teams.

What You’ll Do
Lead business development efforts for infrastructure projects, identifying, qualifying, and securing new opportunities aligned with district revenue targets.
Develop and execute pursuit strategies for targeted clients and projects, influencing project direction early to improve win probability.
Build and maintain solid relationships with municipal clients, consultants, industry partners, and key decision‑makers across Canada.
Collaborate with estimating, operations,
and leadership teams to position pursuits competitively and support pre‑construction efforts once projects are secured.
Maintain accurate opportunity pipelines, pursuit documentation, and client intelligence within the CRM system.
Represent the organization at industry conferences, association events, client meetings, and strategic networking functions.
Support proposal and interview efforts by contributing strategy, value propositions, fee input, differentiators, and interview preparation.
What We Are Looking For
A Civil Engineering or related background that has enabled conversations with stakeholders in the industry.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in business development, project engineering, consulting engineering, or client‑facing technical roles within civil infrastructure.
Strong technical understanding of civil infrastructure scopes including water treatment, pump stations, reservoirs, pipelines, and related works.
Proven ability to develop pursuit strategies, influence outcomes, and win work in competitive markets.
Exceptional communication, relationship‑building, and presentation skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and experience managing CRM systems.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Canada to support client engagement and market development.
