Our client is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and operational accounting functions for a term of 3 months with the possibility of extension or conversion. This role is hybrid in office 2-3 days a week in the Burlington area.
You will be a key contributor to the full cycle of accounting, maintaining rigorous internal controls and providing the analytical support needed to drive regional growth. This is an ideal role for a CPA (or CPA candidate) who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys diving deep into complex reconciliations and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, preparing accurate journal entries and working papers in compliance with IFRS/US GAAP.
- Support the Accounting Manager by providing oversight and guidance to junior team members (A/R, A/P) on complex transactions and Net Suite workflows.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for the annual external audit, assisting as a key point of contact for auditor inquiries.
- Analyze inventory valuation and COGS within Net Suite, collaborating with Warehouse teams to investigate cycle count discrepancies and ensure accuracy across multi-location inventory.
- Process and validate retailer deductions and chargebacks,
working closely with sales and operations to protect company cash flow.
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations to safeguard assets and ensure the continuous integrity of financial data within the ERP.
- Drive Net Suite process improvements, including the creation and maintenance of Saved Searches and Suite Analytics reports to automate manual workflows.
- Prepare tax compliance filings, including HST/GST returns using Net Suite’s tax modules and supporting corporate tax installment calculations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CPA designation is preferred; candidates nearing completion will be considered.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record of handling complex reconciliations and full-cycle reporting.
- Hands-on experience with Net Suite is required, specifically within the context of a CPG, Food & Beverage, or Manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of inventory and trade spend accounting is highly preferred due to the specific requirements of the industry.
- Advanced Excel skills are essential (Power Query, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP).
