Walkerton Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic is seeking a fabulous registered physiotherapist to join our team on a part time basis, with high potential to lead to full time hours if desired.

About the Clinic

Founded in 2021, Walkerton Physiotherapy & Sports Injury clinic is a rapidly growing business with 5 physiotherapists, an athletic therapist, osteopathic practitioners, and 2 massage therapists within a bright and welcoming space.

The clinic has a modern, open concept treatment and exercise space with top of the line treatment tables, modalities and fitness equipment. We pride ourselves on a welcoming, friendly and laid-back atmosphere for both clients and staff. We provide musculoskeletal injury assessment and rehabilitation, with focus on education, patient empowerment, and skill-based intervention including manual therapy and individualized exercise programming. Recently we opened an adjacent fitness studio called EverActive by Walkerton Physio, and we also collaborate with a highly trained clinical Pilates instructor to carry out our very popular Physio-Pilates program.

Our assessments and treatments prioritize one-on-one care for the duration of the session without passing patients off to assistants or support staff for exercises or modalities. This allows for excellent client-therapist relationships, continued assessment by observing joint mechanics under load, compensations throughout movement, and overall response to treatment interventions. We do not charge extra for modalities such as acupuncture or shockwave therapy which allow our staff to avoid feeling like salesmen and simply utilize the techniques they believe will achieve the best results.

Our staff have autonomy over their own schedules and are encouraged to prioritize their own health and wellbeing while working to take care of others.

About the Position





Flexible hours, from part time availability to start, with current client demand. Initially there will be maternity leave caseloads to help cover.

New grads welcome; caseload mentorship available.

Essentials:

- Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with Ontario College of Physiotherapists
- New grads and experienced PT’s welcome to apply
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in the profession

Assets:

- Experience (or strong interest) in sports injuries and ability to effectively prescribe and demonstrate sport-specific exercise
- Excellent manual therapy skills
- Rostered to perform acupuncture (or willing to take the course in the near future)
- Interest in community involvement and youth/student mentorship
- Positive attitude, laid back and aligning with a no-drama work environment

Compensation

Competitive wages ranging from 35-60% percentage split; negotiable and based on experience, additional courses and skills. Yearly continuing education allowance.

The town of Walkerton is a beautiful community located in Bruce County. 30min to Lake Huron beaches, less than an hour to Owen Sound, approximately 1.5 hours to Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph and London, and 2 hours to Toronto. Bruce County has lots to offer for outdoor enthusiasts, with trails, rivers and lakes nearby. Essential amenities, downtown boutiques, and recreational facilities combined with the slowed-down pace of small-town living makes Walkerton perfect for families.
