About the Opportunity
A growing litigation law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with experience in personal injury matters. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of personal injury and commercial litigation files within a collaborative legal environment. The successful candidate will handle legal research, drafting, negotiations, and client communication while supporting the litigation process from file intake to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients, insurance companies, and opposing counsel
- Draft pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and review medical records
- Attend case conferences, Examinations for Discovery, mediations, motions, and hearings
- Negotiate settlements and assist with file resolution
- Apply the Rules of Civil Procedure and Statutory Accident Perks Schedule (SABS) effectively
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of post-call litigation experience.
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
