Thomas, Large & Singer Inc. (TLS) is currently seeking an energetic Logistics Planner to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Transportation, the Logistics Planner is responsible for all truck planning and space optimization activities within CubeIQ and Descartes Transportation Management systems. Ensuring track and trace data availability within Macro Point, KPI and scorecard maintenance. This position will be based out of our TLS head office in Markham, Ontario.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

- Load Optimization:
- Utilize CubeIQ to maximize truck configurations
- Validate equipment type
- Audit load plans, including product stackability and sales order accuracy
- Transportation Planning:
- Utilize Descartes TMS (Transportation Management System) to validate carrier and tariff selection process
- Ensure carrier tenders are EDI transmitted and accepted to meet Customer requested arrival dates (RAD’s)
- Confirm location pings are present within Macro Point for accurate shipment statuses (track and trace validity)
- Communication:
- Coordination with carriers, warehouses and internal teams
- Provide guidance and consultation to Customer Care team for load simulations and ‘fit’ data for customer PO communication
- Issue Resolution:
- Identify and resolve transportation-related challenges within scope of TMS systems
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain records of load planning and optimization activities, including but not limited to SOP’s
- Create and maintain scorecards in support of carrier & service level KPI’s
- Generate reports related to load efficiency and costs

Key Qualifications:

- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- A background in supply chain,



logistics, or transportation is an asset
- Excellent technical skills (Excel, Reporting, EDI)
- Experience working with freight transportation statistics; with an analytical mindset
- Solid customer service skills and solid multitasking abilities.
- TMS / truck load planning knowledge an asset
- Previous CPG experience with major grocery retailer knowledge is a definite asset
- Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
