We are hiring for an individual to join our Cambridge Live-In Addiction Treatment team as an Overnight Attendant. The successful applicant will provide overnight support to treatment program participants, 60;working collaboratively with the staff team to 60;facilitate 60;program related activities. 60;

This is a permanent, part-time (27 hours per week) position with personal days and vacation pay; group health benefits and defined contribution pension plan. Schedule is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, from 11:00pm to 8:00am (overnight, primarily asleep). Option to pick up additional Overnight Attendant shifts in a relief capacity, as needed and as available. Successful completion of a Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector) required pre-employment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise the residence during the overnight hours 60;and ensure that program guidelines are being followed 60;

- Complete 60;building 60;safety checks 60; 60;

- Establish and 60;maintain 60;a helping relationship with program participants while upholding 60;appropriate professional 60;boundaries 60; 60;

- Complete administrative tasks 60;

- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) 60; 60;

- Complete documentation and data entry 60;in 60;accordance 60;with 60;agency and legislative requirements 60; 60;

- Assess complex situations and making 60;appropriate decisions 60;independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team 60;including crisis intervention, risk 60;assessment 60;and safety planning 60;

- Provide crisis and life skills support 60;

- Support with medication processes including communication with pharmacies and doctor’s, 60;reviewing 60;and creating necessary medication documents, and providing access to medication 60; 60;

- Support onboarding and training of new team members 60;

Job Specific Knowledge/Skills:

- Strong understanding of interpersonal skills and the ability to engage in meaningful conversations to develop rapport with individuals who use drugs 60;using a strength-based approach 60;

- Demonstrated capacity for 60;accurate 60;and efficient documentation and computer data entry 60;

- Demonstrated ability to calmly problem-solve in a fast-paced, 60;sometimes stressful environment 60;

- Good communication 60;skills and strong listening skills 60;

- Knowledge of and training in substance use including 60;associated health risks 60;





- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training 60;

- Ability 60;to accept and apply feedback and take initiative 60;

Education/Experience:

- Minimum 60;Grade 12 high school, 60;required 60; 60;

- Previous 60;experience in a social service setting is considered an asset 60;

- Knowledge and understanding of the complexities of substances, problematic substance 60;use 60;and recovery-oriented interventions is considered an asset 60;

Critical Skills:

Rate of Pay:

At House of Friendship all compensation ranges are categorized under a series of “grades” and we base our payment structure on internal equity. 60;When determining rate of pay, a candidate’s past related experience will be taken into consideration.

Grade: 3

Min: $22.08

Mid: -

Max: $23.98

Working Conditions:

- This is primarily an overnight asleep role

- However, staff will provide support to participants as needed

- Works as sole staff on some shifts 60;

- Required to work intensively with program participants in emotionally charged situations 60; 60;

- Required to assess situations and make decisions under pressure with minimal supervision or while working alone 60; 60;

- Must remain at the facility for meal and other breaks 60; 60;

- Intensive contact with program participants 60;required 60;

- Encountering participants at program sites under the influence of 60;alcohol or other drugs, and/or experiencing 60;symptoms of mental illness can be expected
