Our client is a private senior home care located in the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia and is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) to join our care team. As a Registered Nurse, you are responsible for delivering quality nursing care to patients with a focus on assessment, health education, disease prevention and early intervention and support for chronic health conditions.
Responsibilities
- Administering medications to residents
- Assessing wounds and determining a course of treatment within the RN scope of practice
- Supervising LPNs and CCAs
- Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and maintain plans of care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician or according to established policies and protocols
- Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions
- Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment
- May supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff
- May develop and implement discharge planning process on admission of patients
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), preferably in the community home setting
