As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an intermediate Engineering Design & Drafting Technologist to support our technical and project teams through design development, drafting, documentation, and reporting.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Engineering Design & Drafting Technologist plays a key role in supporting the design and technical execution of fall protection systems and related safety solutions. This role combines design drafting, technical documentation, and reporting with collaborative project support.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable translating concepts and site information into accurate drawings and explicit technical documentation..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Drafting

- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Autodesk Inventor
- Develop layouts, assemblies, and fabrication drawings for fall protection systems
- Revise and update drawings based on project requirements and field conditions
- Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and version control

Technical Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare technical reports, design documentation,



and project deliverables
- Assist with preparation of engineered submittals and project documentation packages
- Support development of installation drawings and system specifications
- Document design assumptions, calculations, and project notes clearly and accurately

Project & Team Support

- Collaborate with project coordinators, installers, and technical teams
- Interpret site measurements, sketches, and engineering input into final designs
- Assist with product research and material selection
- Support continuous improvement of internal technical standards and templates

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

- Diploma in Technology Studies, Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related technical discipline

Experience

- 1–3 years of relevant drafting/design technologist experience (or equivalent)
- Experience working with technical documentation and reporting
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, structural systems, or safety systems is considered an asset

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor
- Strong drafting and technical visualization skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings,



specifications, and site information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting

- Organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Problem-solving mindset with practical, solutions-focused thinking
- Ability to read a tape measure in both imperial and metric.
- Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders for site investigations.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
