If you're skilled in software development, CI/CD automation, streaming tech, and big data tools like Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, and Delta Lake - this is your chance to shape the future of data at AIMCo.# Responsibilities of the position: Responsible for building, configuring, monitoring, and operating the data platform including all its integrated technologies, tools, solutions, and other cloud resources and services to + deliver on Data and AI capabilities including data sourcing, data storage, engineering pipeline, data access, data cataloging and lineage, and data reporting and visualization, + ensure that it is scalable, reliable, and high performant. Working closely with other teams such as architecture, product development, DevOps, data management and governance, application integration and application operations to ensure that the data platform is aligned with the overall goals of the company. Responsible for ensuring that the platform is designed to maintain data quality and integrity, even in the face of failures or errors. Providing guidance and support to the Data Product team on technical issues and challenges. Overseeing the development and roadmap of the data platform, including the selection of technologies, design and configuration, implementation of interim target architectures, and the integration with various data sources. Identify and analyze cloud end-to-end architecture to propose new technologies and find new opportunities for innovation, automation, and optimization. Establish pilots and POC's for proposed solutions and make recommendations for approvals. Working with the cloud service team to build and maintain well-written production runbook and operations documentation. Consulting with various data product development teams on performance optimization or scaling challenges Building developer tooling and other platform solutions such as CICD pipelines, local and staging environments, etc.



You will also work with the cloud service team in building out monitoring and observability pipelines. Working with the Cloud Service team to build infrastructure services as part of the platform and in support of data product development. Working with the Cloud Service team to leverage cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, to build and manage data infrastructure. Set up and configure cloud-based data storage, compute resources, and data processing services. Optimize resource allocation, performance, and cost-efficiency of the cloud infrastructure. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering and the investment industry. Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks, and technologies that can enhance data platform capabilities and support investment decision-making processes. Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Formal training and/or accreditation in data management / engineering is preferred. Formal training and/or accreditation in cloud engineering is preferred. Formal training and/or accreditation in IT service management is preferred. 6+ years experience in the day-to-day operation of technology platform (data and/or digital and/or integration) including incidents, problems, and change management. 6+ years of experience in software development, with demonstrated experience working in a dynamic programming language like Python Experienced with operating critical, scalable, and reliable real-time processing systems. Strong technical background in streaming technologies, data engineering, big data technologies (such as Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Delta Lakes, etc.), and other data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Services, Collibra, and Power BI / Tableau. Strong experience in CICD tools and technologies such as source code control, build and deployment, and testing. Strong experience with data integration and ingestion tools such as Azure Data Factory and Apache Airflow. Experienced with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud formation, etc.)



Experienced with DevOps best practices and culture Experienced with writing Python and SQL Solid understanding of cloud design patterns, cloud-native architecture and principles, cloud operations, and cloud security models Experienced in Azure cloud services, functions, cloud databases, data warehouse and analytics, machine learning, developer tools, security, and identity. Experienced in designing and implementing data integration and ETL / ELT processes. Familiarity with various methodologies, frameworks, and technologies relevant to data management including data quality and data governance.
