Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation.

Education and Certification

- Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BLS Certification
- Operating Room Course (including Clinical)
- Canadian Perioperative Nursing Certification (an asset)
- Coronary Care Course (an asset)
- CSAO Course (an asset)

Experience and Skills
- Current experience in active General Operating Room
- Experience in PACU (an asset)
- Experience in Surgical Nursing (an asset)
- Professional Association Membership
- Positive attendance, performance appraisal and work history
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Cooperative teamwork ability
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Professional manner, flexibility, sound judgment and adaptability in decision making, problem solving and team building
- Clinical and leadership knowledge consistent with strong judgement, confidence, critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills
