Headquartered in the Greater Toronto Area, Children Believe is entering an important current chapter that calls for renewed strategic direction, strong organizational leadership, and a bold approach to fundraising, partnerships, and long-term sustainability. The organization is undertaking a period of meaningful transformation, including strengthening its operating model and reshaping its revenue profile to ensure greater diversification, resilience, and long-term growth. It is within this context that Children Believe is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO provides strategic, operational, financial, and people leadership to advance Children Believe's mission and strengthen the organization's platform for long-term impact. The CEO will guide a dedicated team across headquarters and global operations, lead the organization through a period of leadership transition and renewal, and advance a diversified revenue strategy, including driving the evolution of the organization's business and operating model to support sustainable growth and impact. As the organization's principal ambassador, the CEO represents Children Believe to donors, partners, faith communities, sector networks, media, and international stakeholders, while fostering a values-driven culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and impact.
As the ideal candidate, you are a values-based and strategic leader with senior executive experience in a complex, mission-driven organization and a proven ability to build, develop,
and motivate high-performing teams. You bring sound governance, financial, and operational acumen, along with a demonstrated track record of fundraising, partnership development, and organizational leadership. You combine sound judgment with an entrepreneurial spirit, enabling you to identify new opportunities, adapt business and operating models, and chart a sustainable path forward for the organization. You are a credible and engaging communicator, comfortable representing an organization nationally and internationally, and adept at building trust with diverse stakeholders. Experience in the not-for-profit or international development sector is an asset, as is experience working across cultures and geographies. An appreciation for and respect for Children Believe's faith-based heritage, and the ability to support its mission and values, are important for success in this role.
Children Believe operates with a flexible hybrid working model; however, the CEO is expected to maintain a consistent presence in Markham to support hands on leadership and close engagement with staff and stakeholders. Domestic and international travel is required.
Children Believe is committed to building diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible working environments and welcomes those who would contribute to the further diversification of staff including, but not limited to, women, racialized persons, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons of any sexual orientation or gender identity to apply.
