Position: Senior iOS App Developer – Wealth Management Technology
Duration: 12 months + Contract
Location: Calgary, Alberta (On-site engagement; minimum 3 days per week in the office)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)
About Engagement
This collaboration supports the development and continued evolution of client-centric mobile applications in a large-scale wealth management technology environment. This position is part of a successful digital channel organization, responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality iOS apps used by external customers. The team values solid engineering fundamentals, thoughtful architecture and know-how, evolving in a collaborative and dynamic framework, at the forefront of digital finance.
Scope
The Senior iOS App Developer will play a key role in designing, building, and supporting complex iOS apps. The duty goes beyond UI development, requiring depth in performance optimization, Apple ecosystem integration, and architectural decision-making. The consultant will also contribute to technical mentorship and help shape development practices within the local engineering team.
Assignment Deliverables
Design and implement robust and scalable iOS apps using Swift and SwiftUI
Develop clean, testable, and maintainable code, with a solid focus on performance and reliability
Apply Apple frameworks and APIs (e.g., UIKit, SwiftUI, LocalAuthentication, CommonCrypto) to real-world use cases
Optimize application performance with profiling, concurrency strategies, and architectural enhancements
Contribute to application lifecycle activities, including CI/CD, application signing, provisioning, and go-live readiness
Mentor other developers and support the sharing of technical knowledge within the team
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity while maintaining a strong engineering foundation
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional technology and product partners
Required expertise
Strong computer science fundamentals, including memory management, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency
Proven experience in designing and delivering complex iOS apps in production environments
In-depth knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and the Apple development ecosystem
Experience with architectural models such as MVC, MVVM, and modular design approaches
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Xcode tools, performance tuning, application signing, and crash analysis
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Ability to clearly formulate technical decisions and explain code design
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have
Experience with API development or integration
Exposure to Android App Development
A strong user experience and a good awareness of ergonomics
