Our award‑winning, multi‑patented Direct Contact Steam Generation (DCSG) technology unlocks otherwise unrecoverable oil reserves at low carbon intensity by co‑injecting a single stream of steam (or hot water) and combustion exhaust gases (CO₂ and N₂) into heavy oil reservoirs.

Core Duties

- Develop conceptual and analytical models to understand the mechanics and evaluate the performance of injecting steam (thermal) and flue gas as an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technology
- Build, run, and interpret numerical reservoir simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., CMG STARS, Eclipse): reservoir characterization, history matching, and forecasting production performance
- Analysis and recommendations to support application screening, pilot and field scale design
- Support field performance monitoring and post‑analysis
- Translate modelling outputs into technical insights for engineering, management, and external stakeholders




- Communicating with and supporting customers’ subsurface team members
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations
- Stay up to date on the latest advancements in EOR: reading industry journals, attending industry conferences and seminars

Required Qualifications

- Strong understanding of reservoir engineering fundamentals
- Strong understanding of the various types of Canadian and global oil plays and development strategies
- Robust understanding of the various EOR technologies
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline
- Experience performing analytical modelling and engineering calculations
- Hands‑on experience with reservoir simulation tools such as CMG (STARS preferred)
- Ability to convey complex technical results to non‑specialist audiences

Preferred / Advantageous Experience

- Understanding of field‑level production practices and operations
- Experience with Machine Learning and data analytics
- Thermal recovery experience (SAGD, CSS, steam flood, or related processes)
- Exposure to pilot design or technology evaluation workflows
