Location:Scoudouc, New Brunswick (in person)Reports to:Vice President of OperationsEnvironment:Manufacturing /Woodworking /Millwork/Trucking & TransportationJob Types:Full-time, PermanentPosition Summary West-Wood Industries is seeking a hands‑on Supply Chain Director to oversee end‑to‑end supply chain operations, including procurement, materials planning, and manufacturing coordination.This role also provides leadership for the Dispatcher/Shipping Supervisor, Purchaser, Shipper/Shunters and Stockroom Attendant. The position ensures effective material flow into production and finished product delivery to customers across Canada and the US.The ideal candidate thrives in a manufacturing environment where quality materials, tight timelines, and reliable transportation are critical to success.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee procurement & purchasing of specialty lumber, glass, hardware, finishes, packaging, and other production‑related materialsSupervise the Purchaser and ensure strategic sourcing, competitive pricing, and reliable supplyNegotiate supplier contracts and maintain strong vendor relationshipsMonitor product yield, waste, and material cost controlsDevelop contingency sourcing strategies to mitigate supply disruptionsInventory & Production CoordinationAlign material planning with production schedules for custom and standard window and door linesMaintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials and critical componentsReduce stockouts, excess inventory,



and production delaysCollaborate with manufacturing leadership to forecast demand and manage lead timesAssist in the development of an ERP system to ensure proper inventory management systems are in placeShipping & DistributionEnsure accurate and on‑time order fulfillmentOptimize load planning and delivery schedulesMaintain strong communication between procurement, shipping, production, and sales teamsImprove freight cost management and delivery reliabilityLead cross‑functional coordination between purchasing, production, and logisticsTrack KPIs including:Inventory turnsIdentify cost savings and operational efficiency opportunitiesSupport ERP/MRP system accuracy and reportingQualifications5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing operationsExperience managing transportation fleets or logistics operationsStrong knowledge of manufacturing supply chain processesExperience supervising procurement and shipping staffStrong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skillsERP/MRP system experience requiredFluent in French (an asset)Preferred ExperienceWood products, millwork, manufacturing or construction materials industryKnowledge of ERP development is an assetKnowledge of lumber grading and procurementLean manufacturing or continuous improvement backgroundThis is a leadership role operating across office, manufacturing, yard, and transportation environments.
