Salary: $140-$170,000 CAD + Variable Bonus: 25% of base

On-Target Earnings (OTE): CAD $175,000 – $212,500

About the Role

VeUP is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect who can own complex customer outcomes end-to-end, from discovery and solution design through to closing opportunities and guiding delivery. You’ll be the technical lead in deals, especially around GenAI and modern cloud-native architectures, and a key contributor to ARR growth with our AWS MSP and resale offerings.

This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role: you’ll be expected to self-direct, manage your own pipeline of technical work, and consistently influence revenue.

Key Responsibilities

- Customer Discovery & Architecture
- Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects and customers.
- Design secure,



scalable AWS architectures aligned to business outcomes (greenfield, migrations, modernization, data & analytics, GenAI).
- Own solution design documents, reference architectures, and estimates.

- GenAI & Modern Data Solutions
- Architect GenAI solutions using AWS Bedrock and related services (agents, orchestration, RAG pipelines, vector stores, guardrails).
- Advise customers on trade-offs between Bedrock, OpenAI, Claude, and other LLMs, including cost, governance, and technical fit.
- Design and/or review RAG patterns (chunking, embeddings, retrieval, evaluation) and integrate them into broader application or analytics architectures.

- Pre-Sales & Revenue Impact
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to shape proposals, SoWs, and “Art of the Possible” engagements.
- Translate customer needs into clear commercial packages (MSP, retainer, project-based, PoCs).
- Help drive opportunities from discovery through to close, with a clear line of sight to ARR and services revenue.

- Delivery Oversight & MSP
- Provide architectural oversight during implementation and handover to managed services.
- Work closely with engineering and MSP teams to ensure solutions are operable, observable, secure, and cost-optimized.
- Participate in key customer steering / roadmap sessions as the trusted technical advisor.

- Thought Leadership & Enablement
- Contribute to internal playbooks, reference architectures, and reusable patterns (especially in GenAI).
- Mentor junior engineers and solution architects on both technical and pre-sales skills.
- Support marketing / GTM with content (blogs, webinars, talks, internal enablement sessions) as needed.

Required Qualifications

- Certifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (valid and current).

- Experience




- 5–7+ years of hands-on work across engineering and pre-sales / sales engineering roles.
- Proven experience selling and delivering:
- Cloud solutions on AWS (app modernization, data, DevOps, security, etc.).
- Managed Services / MSP offerings and/or ongoing advisory / retainer models.
- Demonstrated track record of individual revenue impact:
- Examples where you influenced or owned deal architecture that led directly to closed revenue, expansion, or higher margins.
- Comfort working with pipeline, forecast, and deal strategy discussions.
- GenAI Focus
- Strong practical understanding of GenAI solution patterns:
- AWS Bedrock (model selection, orchestration, agents).
- OpenAI / Claude or comparable LLM platforms.
- RAG architectures: vector databases, embedding strategies, retrieval patterns, evaluation.
- Agentic workflows and how they plug into existing apps, data, and business processes.
- Ability to explain GenAI trade-offs (latency, cost, governance, safety, data residency) to both technical and business stakeholders.

- Ways of Working
- Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote or semi-structured environment:
- Self-managing priorities across multiple customers.
- Proactively driving next steps without waiting for direction.
- Strong communication skills with both executive and hands-on technical audiences.
- Comfortable collaborating with Sales, Customer Success, and Delivery as one integrated team.

Nice-to-Have

- Experience at an AWS consulting partner or MSP.
- Background with FinOps / cost optimization in AWS environments.

Hands-on experience with:

- Containers (ECS/EKS), serverless (Lambda), and event-driven architectures.
- Data lakes, analytics (e.g., Athena, Glue, Redshift, EMR), MLOps.
- Security & compliance frameworks relevant to cloud-native workloads.
- Prior ownership of GenAI PoCs that moved into production or scaled across multiple business units.
- Comfort engaging with C-level stakeholders on strategy, not just technology.
