We are looking for experienced Project Managers to join our team on Calgary’s next largest project, Scotia Place. CANA is an established company where processes and protocols are in place, where the corporate structure allows nimbleness and adaptivity.
The Role
These positions would be responsible for providing direction and responsibility for specific scope disciplines including but not limited to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and Change Management. This will include costs, schedule, and quality assurance.
This position involves subcontract negotiations, liaison with owners, engineers, and sub‑trades, and management of the technical and financial aspects of the contract. You will be the front‑line CANA contact with consultants and the Owner and will be responsible for promoting and projecting the CANA image of efficiency, quality, and technical competence and fair management of trades and suppliers.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or Diploma in Architectural Technology (equivalencies will be considered).
- 5–10+ years of progressive experience in the commercial construction industry as a Project Manager with increasing responsibility on large‑scale projects.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades and disciplines, identify and resolve conflicts, and maintain project alignment across teams.
- Proven experience in change management, including leading end‑to‑end processes, evaluating scope changes, managing change orders, assessing cost and schedule impacts, and ensuring thorough documentation, approvals, and successful implementation.
- Strong background in MEP coordination, ensuring seamless alignment between design, construction, and trade execution, managing subcontractors, resolving conflicts between disciplines, and delivering systems that meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
- Experience managing projects valued at $200 million+ is considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Solid computer skills.
