Job Description
As a Mechanical Designer within the Property & Buildings team, you will design and deliver mechanical systems that support high‑performing, sustainable buildings. You will work closely with senior designers and engineers, support a diverse portfolio of building projects across multiple sectors, and coordinate the technical delivery of mechanical building systems from concept through construction.
Your Impact
- Prepare mechanical design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
- Support senior designers and engineers in the development of complete drawing packages
- Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire‑protection systems for building projects
- Perform heating, ventilation, and cooling load calculations
- Support engineering calculations using relevant design tools and software
- Coordinate with project teams, external vendors, architects, and engineers
- Support project delivery through accurate documentation and technical coordination
- Participate in occasional local travel based on project requirements
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in BIM modelling and mechanical system design
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience designing building mechanical systems (healthcare experience is an asset)
- Understanding of applicable building codes and standards
- Ability to work independently under general supervision while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Solid attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77,400 – $102,500
MB & ON: $70,600 – $97,200
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $70,600 – $97,200
