Role Description

The Director of Operations & Profitability is responsible for overseeing operational efficiency and financial performance across all Shediac Wonderland businesses.

This is a hands‑on, on‑site leadership role focused on bringing structure, accountability, and financial clarity to a diverse portfolio of operations. The position requires active involvement in day‑to‑day business activities, ensuring that each location operates efficiently, consistently, and profitably.

Core responsibilities include managing operational workflows, analyzing key performance metrics, leading and developing teams, and optimizing cost structures. The role also plays a central part in reinforcing a culture of disciplined execution, strong customer service, and measurable performance.

Key Responsibilities





Operational Performance

- Oversee daily operations across multiple business units
- Standardize workflows, systems, and procedures to ensure consistency
- Improve efficiency without compromising guest experience

Financial Management & Profitability

- Build and manage weekly performance dashboards (sales, labour %, COGS %, prime cost)
- Analyze key performance metrics and translate them into actionable decisions
- Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective measures to improve margins

Cost Control

- Manage labour scheduling and productivity across locations
- Oversee food and beverage cost controls, including purchasing and portioning
- Reduce waste and ensure operations remain within defined cost targets

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead, coach, and support location managers
- Establish clear expectations tied to measurable KPIs
- Foster accountability and performance‑driven decision‑making

Execution & Continuous Improvement

- Implement operational improvements and ensure follow‑through
- Prioritize initiatives based on financial impact
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation

Performance Expectations (First 90 Days)





- A clear weekly reporting structure implemented across all locations
- Labour and cost controls actively managed at the unit level
- Measurable improvement in prime cost performance
- Managers aligned, accountable, and operating with clear targets

Qualifications

- Robust experience in operations management, ideally in hospitality, tourism, or multi‑unit environments
- Proven ability to improve operational efficiency and profitability
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on performance metrics
- Experience managing teams, including leadership, coaching, and development
- Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial performance
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
- Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field is an asset

- Direct communicator who can lead and hold teams accountable

Compensation

- Base salary: $60,000 – $80,000
- Performance‑based bonus tied directly to profitability improvements

Location

- Based in Shediac, New Brunswick
- On‑site presence required across multiple locations
- Seasonal intensity expected during peak tourism periods
