Qualifications for Electrical Controls Engineer

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications (e.g., P.Eng) considered an asset.
- Hands‑on experience with electrical systems design, PLC programming, and industrial automation.
- Robust understanding of power systems and control logic.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with design‑for‑manufacture principles and prototyping.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for Power Systems Engineer

- 10 years minimum experience in designing heavy industrial engineering projects.
- Registered as a P.Eng, or licensed professional in Canada.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification for non‑registered Electrical Specialists.
- Experience with Electrical system modelling using (ETAP/SKM).
- Experience completing power system reports including load flow, short circuit, motor starting and arc flash.

Qualifications for Electrical Designing Role





- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EPC environment focused upon delivery of E&I; design packages medium to large scale projects.
- S3D, Microstation, or AutoCAD proficiency.

Qualifications for Controls Engineer Role

- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical or Software Engineering discipline, Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 to 10 years experience in design of various control systems with Allen Bradley hardware; other brands is an Asset.
- 5 to 10 years experience in PLC/HMI programming on Allen Bradley, RSLogix 5000 and FactoryTalk View Studio Other PLC/HMI brands also an asset.
- DeltaV Programming Experience an Asset
- Knowledge of various electrical components including MCCs, VFD’s, electrical switchgear and motors.
- Knowledge in CSA code for hazardous location is required.
- Knowledge in IEC and NEC code is an asset.
- Knowledge in the use of Computer‑Aided Engineering Software is an asset.
- Good analytical, engineering problem solving skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office application software.

Qualifications for Senior Electrical Engineer

- Electrical Engineering Degree, oil & gas industry‑related experience considered an asset
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing with APEGA




- 8 years of experience in industrial power systems and hazardous‑area electrical design
- Experience designing power generation systems (up to 15 kV) and building electrical systems (up to 600 V)
- Skilled in specifying and sizing electrical components: switchgear, transformers, MCCs, protection relays, VFDs, breakers, motor starters, etc.
- Proficient in electrical calculations (load flow, short‑circuit, cable‑sizing, grounding, etc.), compliant with relevant codes and project requirements
- Track record of preparing and reviewing detailed engineering deliverables (schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts)
- Experience estimating electrical costs (pre‑sale and post‑sale)
- Hands‑on experience with motors, instrumentation, and control wiring (including intrinsically safe / non‑incendive systems)
- Previous work in a fabrication environment, translating designs into real‑world manufactured systems
- Ability to develop internal engineering tools or processes (e.g., calculators for cable or breaker sizing)
- Demonstrated leadership or mentorship: establishing design standards, guiding junior engineers, or leading tool development

Preferred

- Experience in the oil & gas, energy, or power generation industry
- Familiarity with heat tracing systems
- Previous involvement in process improvement or standardization of engineering practices
- Experience influencing cross‑functional teams or managing internal conflict
