Temiskaming Lodge is a fully accredited long term care home in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario and serves 128 residents. Temiskaming Shores is a city in Northeastern Ontario, and is approximately 155 km north of North Bay. The community is known for its beautiful environment and recreational opportunities on Lake Temiskaming, and offers a mix of amenities, from shopping and dining to outdoor activities like boating, hiking, and winter sports.

Join our team as a Co-Director of Care (RPN)!

n

Under the direction of the Director of Care, the Co-Director of Care (RPN) performs nursing skills in accordance with the standards of nursing practice as outlined by the College of Nurses to ensure the provision of optimum care for each individual resident.

n

The Co-Director of Care (RPN) is responsible and accountable for the coordination, implementation and overall management of essential programs to the home which could include wound care, infection control, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

The Co-Director of Care (RPN) is also required to adhere to safety protocols, contribute to policy development, and ensure the accuracy of resident assessment data. A key component of the position involves staff management, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.

Additional duties involve community outreach, supporting ongoing professional education, managing resident files, and orienting new team members.



The Co-Director of Care (RPN) also participates in committees, manages supplies, collaborates with students and volunteers and mentors staff in leadership development.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

n

- Must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss 79 and Ontario Regulation ss. 51/22.

- Successful completion of or enrolment in Long Term Care Senior Management or equivalent
n
- 2 years experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) preferred
n
- Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
n
- Must be computer literate
