Location: Concord, Ontario (an in-person position)
Type of Employment: Full-time hours, Monday – Friday
Annual Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000

Job Description:
The primary role of the Product Developer (PD) is to support the development of new products from concept generation to product launch. The PD will report directly to the Product Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare bench and prototype samples for internal team and external customer requirements and approvals.
- Assist in formula development, ingredient sourcing, technical research, and production methodologies on a project-by-project basis. Responsible for documentation and logging of all elements of product development projects.
- Oversee line trials, plant trials, and first production of new items.
- Prepare samples and coordinate sensory evaluation and documentation.
- Develop cooking instructions for recent products that are consumer-friendly and food safe.
- Coordinate sample preparation and shipping to customers on a continuous basis.
- Coordinate private label retail requirements for product development,



including: formulation, sourcing, sample preparation, and documentation. Maintain excellent communication.
- Participate in continuous improvement.
- Liaison with Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Sales & Marketing, Procurement and Production teams in a professional and supportive manner to coordinate necessary elements during product development and launch.
- Attend customer presentations.

Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in Food Science or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in product development within the food industry.
- Creativity and a passion for food.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical skills; strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
