Summer Student Position (CSJ)
Start Date: June 29, 2026
Hiring: 1 Position
Rate: $17.60 / hr 35 hrs a week
Location: Alliston Restore – 239 Church St S
Under the supervision of the Alliston Restore Manager, as a Retail Associate at Habitat for Humanity Huronia Restore – Alliston location, you will play a crucial role in our mission to create safe and decent housing for families in need.
Your primary responsibilities will involve providing world class customer service in a team workplace.
· Develops relationships with and donors/customers providing knowledgeable, courteous and responsive customer service to build loyalty and promote repeat business.
· Ensure adherence to established safety and security practices and procedures as outlined in the Restore Safety Handbook.
· Works with teammates to create eye-catching displays and merchandising.
· Works with teammates in the donation/warehouse areas to keep donations moving efficiently on to the sales floor.
· Works with donation ambassador and driver to collect donations in the community.
· Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
· Must be able to work flexible shifts including days and weekends on a rotating schedule.
Qualifications:
· Previous retail experience with strong communication skills.
· Adaptable, energetic team player with a passion for contributing to our mission.
· Strong interpersonal skills to develop a rapport with teammates, volunteers, customers and donors.
· Able to meet the physical demands including frequent pushing, pulling and reaching; frequent kneeling & bending; frequent lifting or carrying up to 30 lbs; standing for extended periods of time.
- Valid Class G drivers’ licence with a clean driving abstract
- Must have CSA approved, green patch steel toe boots/shoes.
- Must be cleared by a Criminal Reference Check.
