Position: Block Machine Operator

Shift: Various/Rotating shift

Experience Required:

- Applicant must have at least 2 years of operating equipment or industry related work experience

- Experience operating production equipment (conveyors, presses, mixers, etc.) is an asset

- Experience with quality control is an asset

- Experience with mechanical adjustments/repairs and preventative maintenance is an asset

Education/Designation/Licence Required:

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

- Access to reliable transportation is a requirement (Personal automobile, public transit, etc.).

Responsibilities of the Job:

- The Block Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring that quality concrete products are safely and efficiently produced from a block machine utilizing a vibration system. This position reports directly to the Plant Supervisors and Plant Manager.

Primary functions and duties of this position are listed below:

- Participate in all safety initiatives and practices

- Perform quality control testing during production (height test, density test, appearance, etc.)

- Set-up and change-over the automated batching and block machine equipment

- Perform change-overs and follow production schedules

- Communicate and assist supervisor in leading other positions within production





- Troubleshoot issues with the equipment

- Maintain/adjust/repair equipment

- Optimize adjustments to increase plant efficiency

- Participate in housekeeping functions to promote a safe, clean and effective work environment

- Participate in general plant functions

- Record and enter downtime and production related information into the online database

- Carry out other duties as assigned

In addition to the above primary functions, the Block Machine Operator must complete individual and team objectives focused on continuous improvement of product/processes at the Markham manufacturing location.

- Literacy in Microsoft Windows
