Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across various building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment. This role also includes dealing with appliance and plumbing issues. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance skills, along with leadership qualities to supervise maintenance activities and coordinate with teams. Experience with manufacturing environments, schematics, CMMS systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the seamless operation of our facilities while demonstrating excellent customer service and leadership capabilities.

We work with old heritage buildings and the systems reflect the buildings age. For this reasons we will need someone who has experience workings on old as well as new builds. Someone who excels in technology usage is a must. We use Yardi Breeze Premiere and RentCafe as a means to organize our maintenance request, renovations, and tenants communication. Learning this program is a non-negotiable and will be integrated into daily use,

Responsibilities

- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical systems, mechanical components, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Operate and maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, maintenance schedules, and inventory. This would be Yardi Breeze.
- Perform plumbing repairs and other mechanical tasks as needed to maintain facility integrity.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals,



and wiring diagrams for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Supervise maintenance staff or contractors during repair projects when applicable.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work performed and parts used. Daily to weekly reports will be required of all the work completed.
- Assist in planning facility upgrades or renovations to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.

Requirements

- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building repair roles within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Supervising experience is preferred for leadership responsibilities.
- Strong electrical experience, including working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Knowledge of CMMS systems for work order management.
- Skilled in plumbing techniques and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Mechanical knowledge related to building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and structural components.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environment standards and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French for effective team coordination.
- Demonstrated customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role is vital in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and functionality of our facilities through expert maintenance practices combined with robust leadership qualities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
