Finish Skid Steer Operator

DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced Finish Skid Steer Operator for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area. DeFord is a leading contractor in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in municipal road projects, subdivision land development, parking lots, and other key infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

- Operate a skid steer with precision to perform fine grading and surface finishing.
- Work on municipal road projects, subdivisions, parking lots, and other infrastructure developments.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment.
- Work closely with site supervisors, laborers, and other operators to meet project specifications and deadlines.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with other construction duties as required.

Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience operating a skid steer in construction,



particularly in fine grading and finishing.
- Experience working in asphalt paving, gravel, concrete, and/or earthworks is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of grades, slopes, and elevation adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ground Disturbance Level II; preferred.
