Description

The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Spring 2026 OPMA 317 LEC 01. Classes in the Spring 2026 semester run from May 4 to June 15, 2026. Registrar Scheduled Exams will take place between June 17 to June 20, 2026, if applicable.

OPMA 317 LEC 01 (Fundamentals of Operations and Supply Chain Management)
LEC 01 Monday/Wednesday 9:00am - 11:45am

The calendar description of the course:
"An introduction to operations and supply chain management's strategic importance, wide applicability, and sustainability integration. Topics include management of inventory, quality, global supply chains, capacity, projects and process improvement."

Qualifications

- Graduate degree (MBA, MSc, DBA or PhD) or work experience in a relevant field is required.
- Recent successful delivery of a course teaching the fundamentals of Operations Management as instructor at a post-secondary institution (within last two years) that includes evidence of curriculum development with case-based or experiential learning approaches is required.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex operational workflows, and to translate them into accessible and applied learning.
- Demonstrate the ability to foster student engagement at the undergraduate level.
- Located in or near Calgary for the in-person delivery of the course is required.
