Pincher Creek Co-op is currently accepting applications for an Agro Sales Advisor to join our team at our Agro Centre in Pincher Creek, AB.

Reporting to the Division Manager, the Agro Sales Advisor will be responsible for the effective operation of the Agro Department.
n
The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion-dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 250 autonomous retail co-operative's across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services.

What You’ll Do:
nReporting to the Division Manager, the Agro Sales Advisor will assist the Agro team with daily operations, customer service, and product support.n
Key responsibilities include
n
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with current and potential customers based upon an approach of targeting customers with whom the Co-op can do business.
- Recommend programs and services to meet and exceed customer needs and contact producers on farm-based customer strategies to increase awareness of customer’s business needs.
- Assist customers to make farm production and marketing decisions,
proactively seek to become involved in the business decision-making process of targeted customers and arranging for customers’ learning opportunities that provide business and professional value.
- Analyze current and future agricultural trends, service needs, develop and implement strategies to create opportunities.
- Develop and administer an aggressive farm contact program with present and prospective customers, promoting the services and product lines available at the Co-op, and keeping informed with competitor activities within the market area.
- Arrange and execute customer plot tours with chemical companies where needed.
- Provide field scouting as requested and provide information of findings to the customer, scan and interpret the database and share relevant information (trends, market needs, business opportunities) with team members.
- Provide information on seed, weed, disease and insect control so customers can make an informed decision.
- Be a liaison and public relations representative for the Co-op within the communities we serve, delivering a world-class customer service that is fast, friendly, and efficient.
- Consult with growers on agricultural issues and investigate potential challenges and offer solutions.
- Observe safety measures and report hazardous conditions immediately to the Division Manager.
- Responsible for the safe handling of crop protection products and assist with managing and maintaining the crop protection chemical shed as to meet all AWSA & CPI standards including the audit process.
- Assist with pricing, price checks, sales, and inventory management of crop protection products, working with the Division Manager and Operations Support Analyst.
- Work closely with Operations Support Analyst and follow all established policies and procedures.
- Able to work and perform in a team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including working at the Agro sales desk, inventory, etc.

Who You Are:
n
- Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, and a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification is required.
- 3-5 years of crop input industry related experience.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent internal and external customers service and relationship building skills.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written along with sound presentation skills.
- Decision making skills in a fast paced and pressurized work environment.
- Computer knowledge and skills to develop spreadsheets, documents, and customer files.
- Problem solving skills, attention to detail and business savvy skills.
- A valid drivers’ license is required.
- A forklift license is an asset (training provided if needed).
