Boreal Land Services Ltd. is a full-service land, regulatory & reclamation consulting company based in Sherwood Park, Alberta. We are currently seeking an individual to fill a position as a Junior Environment & Regulatory Specialist (0 to 5 years experience).

In this position, you will be given meaningful, productive, and challenging assignments related to land, environmental, and regulatory consulting. The successful candidate will gain experience across a range of disciplines including environmental assessments, wetland ecology, reclamation, regulatory applications, and client coordination.
n
This position will be based in our Sherwood Park office with an estimated 60–75% office / 25–40% field work allocation.
n
Duties
n· Directly interact with clients and support work on land, environmental, and reclamation projects.n
· Collect, interpret, and report biophysical field data in support of regulatory and reclamation applications.
n
· Assist in the preparation and submission of Public Lands Act dispositions, Water Act applications, and reclamation certificate applications.
n
· Conduct wetland assessments and delineation to support WAIFs & WAIRs.
n
· Support and participate in Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA).
n
· Assist with third-party consents and stakeholder notifications where required.
n
· Support Indigenous consultation activities in accordance with Alberta Aboriginal Consultation Office (ACO) guidelines.
n
· Collaborate with internal team members across disciplines (biology, forestry, agrology, land, and regulatory).
n
Qualifications
n· 0 to 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, reclamation, or related industries (oil & gas, forestry, utilities, renewables,
or mining).n
· Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Forestry, Biology, Ecology, or a related discipline.
n
· Skilled designation (or eligibility for designation) such as P.Biol, P.Ag, RPF, RPFT, or similar is considered an asset.
n
· Working knowledge of Alberta legislation and guidelines, including:
n
- Water Act
- Public Lands Act
- Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act
- Alberta Wetland Policy & Directives
- Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities
n· Familiarity with AER processes (Directive 56, OneStop, RoO Tool) is an asset.n
· Experience with wetland delineation, reclamation assessments, or ESAs would be considered an asset.
n
· Strong technical writing, data management, and organizational skills.
n
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office; GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS) is an asset.
n
Pre-Employment Requirements
n
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
n
· Experience operating ATV/ARGO equipment is an asset.
n
· Willingness to work overtime and travel on short notice.
n
· Comfortable working in remote locations and physically demanding field conditions.
n
