Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care, and compassion. We are looking for people who can provide an ongoing commitment.

CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR: We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced female Personal Support Worker (PSW) to care for an 80-year-old male client in Stouffville. The client is paraplegic and bedbound, requiring attentive, hands-on care and support with all activities of daily living.
n
-This position offers shifts Monday through Sunday with varying hours, including 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, 2:00 PM–4:00 PM, 6:00 PM–9:00 PM, and overnight shifts from 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, so flexibility and a strong commitment to a consistent schedule are essential.
n
-The ideal candidate will have prior experience with similar high-care needs, be confident in providing full personal care, and demonstrate patience, compassion, and professionalism at all times.
n
-Please note that the client’s home is located in an area with very limited public transit, so a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
n

South York Region: Richmond Hill, Vaughan, King, Whitchurch-Stouffville.

we also have opportunities in Central York Region: Newmarket, Aurora,
East Gwillimbury, Holland Landing, Sharon, Cedar Valley, Sanford.

and in the North York Region & Surrounding Communities: Georgina, Keswick, Sutton West, Pefferlaw, Mount Albert, Beaverton, Sunderland, Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Hourly Wage: $18.00-$19.50

Essential Job Functions:
n
- Providing 1:1 care assistance to each client individually or in a team setting with another CG
- Assist in 2-person transfers using mechanical lifts or 1-person assists
- Provide medication reminders
- Support clients in completing all Activities of Daily Living such as toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance
- Assist in palliative support as needed
- Expected to maintain communication regarding all client care needs and changes and make appropriate reports
- May be required to assist in Instrumental Activities of Daily Living such as laundry, changing linens, warming up meals, etc.

Requirements of the Position:
n
- Must have a vehicle with valid auto insurance
- Must be a certified PSW or International Nurse
- Experience with 2-person transfers asset - training will be provided as needed
- Experience with palliative care - asset
- Experience changing with bed-bound clients,
- Experience with all forms of personal care
- Must be a team player and willing to work with other Home Instead CGs
- Experience with Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's, MS, and Diabetes is an asset
- Must be comfortable with pets and/or smoking
- Must have a valid VSC check
- Must have their TB test
- Must be able to provide availability that will allow an ongoing commitment
