approximately 200 employees. The City of Weyburn is offering an opportunity to work in the Public Works Department as an
Operator I. As we continue to grow and prosper as a community, we seek a motivated and innovative employee to join our team!
The Public Works Operator is responsible for the protected, efficient operation of vehicles and equipment to carry out work related to
the maintenance and operation of the Public Works Department.
Responsibilities:
- Operates sewer maintenance equipment to maintain and repair sewer systems.
- Performs general equipment operation and maintenance.
- Maintains vehicle and equipment maintenance logs.
- Assists with any labour related to the repair and maintenance of water or sewer mains and services.
- Assists with repair and maintenance of sewage lift stations.
- Cleans and repairs catch pits and manholes.
- Assists with the rebuild of streets and sidewalks as required.
- Performs traffic control duties as assigned.
- Operates all light utility vehicles of the Public Works fleet for various purposes.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education
- Grade 12 education or equivalent GED.
- Certificate in Traffic Control considered an asset.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 licence required; must obtain a valid Class 3A licence within
the first six months of employment.
- Hand signal training required.
Experience
- No previous municipal experience required.
- 1 – 3 years experience operating at minimum one of the following: excavator, grader, compactor, loader or skid steer
required.

- Benefits and Remuneration – Commensurate with the CUPE Local 90 Collective Agreement
